Spring Training - Day 1
We should be off this morning by 9 am the latest. A beautiful morning it is. The sun is just peaking over the hill to the east of us, and the skies are dusted with thin streaks of clouds. Should be another warm one for southern California, even warmer for Arizona.
My kids are almost going out of their minds with excitement. It's like the that night you can't sleep right before going to Disneyland. We tried to keep the trip a secret as long as possible, but my oldest, being as smart as he is, caught a scent of a clue and put it all together.
Of course, I still have to pack and get the car ready. Fortunately, it shouldn't take too long, because I am excited to get going too. I'll post pics in the gallery as soon as I get a chance.
Ciao
~~~~Later in the day~~~~
It was a long day of travel, but the kids and traffic were great. We arrived and no sooner were off to the ballpark to see the first of two Padre games. This one was against the Royals. On our way, we discovered the camera was left in my backpack at the hotel room. Arrrrrg! Unfortunately there won't be any pics from this game.
The ballpark was super cool. We sat a few rows up from the Padre dugout on the first base side, giving us the opportunity to be up close to the players. In fact, my oldest son got autographs from three of the Padre players.
All in all, a great day with the fam.
