Tech Thoughts
Camera Crazy
I recently installed some IP security cameras around the school and discovered something incredibly pondering. Students are freaked out!
No kidding, I have been bombarded with more student questioning the past few days regarding the cameras than I have the past few weeks helping students with computer issues. I'm laughing all day long because the kids think someone is out to get them. One of my advisees came up with a classic, "Come on Mr. A, don't you guys trust us?" My response, "No." And to add, "But it's not about you." In my head I was also thinking, "And don't you trust me?" I didn't want to say it out loud because I didn't want to hear the response. No need to open myself up for scrutiny with freshmen.

Is it the look that makes it better?
I recently was given an opportunity to take a short online survey for my local energy company. Come to find out it was a survey for a facelift of their website. HUH? Are they serious? Don't they provide energy?
Anyway, to put it out on the table, I stomached my way through the survey because I had a chance to win an "8 Gig media player with touch technology". Is there anyone out there that doesn't know that they're suggesting an iPod touch? Correct me if I'm wrong, and smack me because I think I really have a chance at winning the "media player".

Planning for the future
I'm really looking forward to working with teachers to implement blogging and podcasting into the curriculum. A few of the teachers have already began blogging with students but no podcasting yet. We need to get together mics, EQs, and possibly compressors for the recording systems. If anyone knows how to do this on the cheap, let me know.
I'm out.
